Copper Canyon

Looking out at the Copper Canyon, Mexico.

When we got back to the ship at 11PM everyone asked, “Was it worth it?”  Definitely yes!  Would I do it again, probably not.  It was a wonderful experience and a fun, if long and exhausting, day.  Compared to the Grand Canyon it isn’t that spectacular, but what is?  It was something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m glad I did it.

Of the 1400 or so guests on VOLENDAM about 325 elected to take the tour at just under $500 each.  Because the elevation reaches 7,000 feet above sea level at some points, not everyone was able to take the trip because of health considerations.  The ship doctor did travel with us and his services were not required.
